Theo Campbell

Theo Campbell received a BA in Theatre Arts with a certificate in Gender and Sexuality studies and an honors certificate in interdisciplinary studies at the University of Pittsburgh. They also received an MFA in Costume Design at Rutgers University. Theo has spent the last several years as a costume designer and maker in New York City. Favorite credits include assisting Tony-award winning designer David Woolard on the world premiere of the opera Stonewall and working as a milliner at Lynne Mackey Studio, where they made hats for Frozen, Hamilton, Wicked, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
Theo’s research interests concern how clothing and other aspects of material culture are represented and misrepresented in literature, particularly within nineteenth century travel narratives. They are also interested in studying Irish literature through the lenses of orientalism and post-colonial theory.
